Local NC authors and business owners are putting together a charity auction to raise funds for relief efforts in Western North Carolina. Over 275 authors and business owners have pledged to donate books, merch, and services to the cause.
Charity Auction
Western North Carolina was hit hard by Hurricane Helene, suffering unprecedented damage.
Some towns have been completely wiped off the map, people have lost their homes and businesses. Roads have been swept away. People are stranded without power, cell service, or running water.
How the charity auction will work
The auction will be hosted on 32Auctions.com. Although we are using this website, we will not be directly collecting money from anyone. Once the auction has ended, we will instruct winners to provide a donation directly to a charity from our list. Once we receive proof of a donation in the form of a receipt or screen shot from the donation confirmation page we will collect necessary shipping info from the winner so the donor can ship out their gift. Please make sure your proof of donation includes the amount donated so we can ensure you donated the correct bidded amount.
People participating in the auction will need to create an account through the website, however, you will not be making any payments through the website. Donations will be made directly to the organizations. Once the auction has ended, please wait for emailed instructions from us before donating.
The auction will begin on Friday, Oct 18th at 1pm EST and will run until Sunday, Oct 20th at 11:30pm EST.
We have 300 prizes available that include ebooks, special edition books, out of print books, author services, handmade items, tickets to bookish events, and more!
Navigating the website: You are able to search through prizes via category (book, ebook, event, gift card, merch, service). When you first land on the page, you can click where it says “All Items” at the top of the page to pull down the list. You can also search by the type of shipping (US Only, US & Canada, International, or N/A). If you are outside of the US it will be helpful to look through items this way. You can also use the search feature to search for a specific author or business. If someone outbids you on an item you will receive an email.

MANNA FoodBank, located in Asheville, North Carolina, is a private, not-for-profit service organization working to end food insecurity in the 16 counties of Western North Carolina, including the Qualla Boundary.
World Central Kitchen
Serving chef prepared meals to communities across the world impacted by natural disasters and during humanitarian crises.
Hearts with Hands
Hearts With Hands™ is a Christian, nondenominational, humanitarian, non-profit 501 (c) 3, charitable organization operated by Greg Lentz Ministries. They provide "Box of Hope" non-perishable food boxes, water, hygiene kits, cleaning supplies, baby supplies, cat and dog food, and more to those facing a natural disaster.
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue
Founded in 2007, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue enhances the lives of companion animals and the people who love them. They work across county lines with the goal of saving the greatest number of lives possible through strategic, creative, and impactful programming.
Who are the NC Indies
We are a group of indie authors and small business owners from North Carolina who have come together to help our neighbors in the Western parts of NC. Some of us call the mountains home, some of us have many fond memories of the area. Regardless, we have all been impacted by this storm and want to help our community.
